New music groups set for Romsey Festival

Categories: Press releases

New musical groups and events are set to take part in Romsey Festival 2020.

Following a recent meeting of potential participants, Romsey Festival has announced a wave of the latest groups to join the lineup.

They include Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership, Romsey Modellers and Flautissimo.

Three Rivers Rail Partnership is an off-road walking trail for 5-11 year olds, starting and finishing at Romsey Signal Box.

Children will be given a questionnaire and a map to guide them round the trail, during which they will answer 20 questions.

Children who complete the trail will receive a certificate – there is no charge for this event.

It will take approximately 30 minutes and admission will be free.

Romsey Modellers will be holding their scale-model show, which includes a feature of more than 1,000 detailed scale models showcasing work from 21 model clubs.

There will be modelling demonstrations and advice to all aspiring modellers.

The show will take place on Sunday, 5 July 2020 at Crosfield Hall, Romsey.

Finally, Flautissimo is Southampton’s Flute orchestra, which has around 40 players including school pupils, university students, teachers and amateur adults.

Mark Edgerley, Vice Chair of Romsey Festival 2020, said: “I am delighted we have been able to broaden the range and interest of the Romsey Festival 2020.

“It will be an exciting and busy two weeks with, we hope, an event to interest every resident in the Romsey area and some that will attract audiences from much further afield.”

The wave of new groups and organisations is vital to ensure the Romsey Festival meets its key objectives to offer “something for everyone” with at least 50 percent of events free to enter.

The next Romsey Festival launches on Friday, July 3 2020 and runs to Sunday, July 19.
