A Romsey and District Society Natural Environment event – the same walk on all four dates, each limited to 15 people.
Enjoy a guided walk around some of Romsey’s waterways and Fishlake Meadows nature reserve, with an opportunity to learn about their history and natural environment.
The walk will leave from outside the TVBC Old Magistrates Court, (across the road from the Visitor Information Centre) pass through King John’s garden and amble along the Barge Canal up to the Fishlake Meadows nature reserve.
The return walk takes in the Test Mill Stream at Priestlands, passing by the Abbey and Abbey Water to finish in the Market Place. This walk will cover some of the local history and the environmental aspects of the waterways and nature reserve.
Distance– About 4 miles taking about 2.5 hours.
Footwear- Some of the paths are rough and uneven and may be muddy in wet weather so stout footwear is needed.
Weather– Please have clothes appropriate to the weather. The walks will go ahead even if it rains. July is likely to be hot and sunny; if so, bring a hat and a bottle of water.
There are no toilets or refreshment places along the route.
