‘Enchanting’
Vincent Lindsey-Clark
International concert guitarist & composer
Nina Rideout’s playing has been described as ‘hauntingly beautiful’ and ’captivating’.
As a soloist, Nina has performed at The National Gallery, four times in Romsey Abbey, twice at Mottisfont (National Trust) and also in County Hall London.
Nina is on the autism spectrum, but was not diagnosed until the age of 37. For this reason, she started her career later than most professional musicians. This condition means Nina is particularly sensitive to her surrounding and experiences music especially deeply.
‘She delighted audiences’ – Romsey Advertiser
Nina studied guitar with Carlos Bonell, Professor at The Royal College of Music, and with Roland Chadwick, composer, solo performer, and member of the Modern Guitar Trio. While reading music at London University, she also studied with Gilbert Biberian, Professor at Trinity College of Music.
Nina comes from a very internationally-minded musical family: her parents decided to name their baby after either Nina or Frederik, of the 1960s Danish-Dutch singing duo and so Nina it was! Her mother is Swiss, her father is English, but her surname is of French origin and is pronounced the French way: ‘Ridoo.’
In addition to her classical guitar career, Nina is part of musical comedy duo, Randle & Rideout. She also sometimes sings, accompanying herself on guitar or ukulele.
